Ready to enter the new year with a bang?!

They’re known for going big in Dubai, and the annual fireworks display is no exception! The famous Burj Khalifa (world’s tallest building) is often used as a backdrop for light, sound and firework displays. In fact, they broke the world record with their 2017 show!

6. London, England

Starting at midnight above the London Eye, we can’t imagine a more romantic setting to usher in the new year than from one of the iconic bridges nearby. Or wait – how about booking a boat along the Thames? Yeah. We’ll take that.

5. New York City, USA

Okay, this one isn’t necessarily on the list purely for fireworks, but it’s got perhaps the best New Year’s Eve atmosphere in the world! From Times Square to all the boroughs, the NYE experience in NY, NY is unbeatable.

4. Amsterdam, The Netherlands

While most of the displays on this list are run by the state, the Dutch take a more democratic approach. You probably won’t find a professional show – but trust us, you won’t notice. The entire city is lit up by amateur firework artists, creating an extremely lively – if not a bit dangerous – atmosphere.

3. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Brazil’s Copacabana Beach is known for being a 24/7/365 party… but if you’re going to pick ONE day to visit, it’s gotta be New Year’s Eve. More than 3 million people will crowd the beaches for a brilliant display (and about 6 million caipirinhas, if they’re doing it right).

2. Marina Bay, Singapore

In Singapore, New Year’s celebrations don’t just occur on the eve. In the whole month before NYE, you’ll find Singapore’s Marina Bay area turned into a virtual carnival, with all sorts of celebrating going on – from street food and performances to rides and, of course, plenty of fireworks.

1. Sydney, Australia

There’s a reason Australia – and particularly Sydney – seems to top almost every New Year’s Eve list we researched. Can you guess it?

Yup – the Aussies are among the very first to ring in the new year. As such, it’s a point of pride to have the most amazing celebration possible… and year after year, they certainly come through. They’re now known worldwide as the best place to be on New Year’s Eve!
